Unraveling the Threads of History: A Deep Dive into ‘Article 370’

Upon entering the theatre to watch “Article 370”, I anticipated a commercial movie filled with dialogues and a hero single-handedly combating terror groups. However, the film was a political narrative on the abrogation of Article 370, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale.

The film commenced with a narration by Ajay Devgan, providing a brief history of Article 370. The film’s protagonists were Yami Gautam and Priya Mani. Initially, the movie resembled a documentary due to its slow pace, but it gradually picked up momentum. The depiction of the Pulwama attack scene was not as intense as in the film “Fighter”, perhaps in an attempt to maintain realism.

The film is a must-watch for those interested in the history of Article 370. However, it could have been more engaging and intense with a dramatic background score, especially for audiences accustomed to commercial films with song and dance sequences.
The pace of the film did pick up towards the end, but it lacked punchy one-liners. Dialogues like “Poora ka poora Kashmir, Bharat desh ka hissa tha, hai aur rahega!” will resonate with the entire nation and probably Kiran Karmarkar’s best lines. However, the punch was missing. Yami’s performance in “Thursday” was superior to her role in this film.

The cast also included Arun Govil, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Raj Zutshi, Ashwini Koul, Kiran Karmarkar, Divya Seth Shah, Raj Arjun, Sumit Kaul, and others. All actors delivered good performances, playing their parts well.

Director Aditya Jambhale did a commendable job, but the film could have been more gripping with a tighter script and an element of anticipation.

The film “Article 370” was brought to life by the commendable efforts of its producers – Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar. Their contribution to the film played a significant role in shaping the narrative and bringing this important piece of history to the big screen. Their dedication to the project ensured that the story of Article 370 was told in a manner that was both informative and engaging for the audience. Their work on this film is a testament to their commitment to quality cinema that not only entertains but also educates.

In conclusion, it’s hard to criticize the film as the makers have done their part in preserving the history and educating the nation about Article 370. This film is likely to make “Article 370” one of the most searched terms on Google. It’s a must-watch for all Indians.
